 1) Intro.
------------------------------------------

Hello Everyone, In driving along our highways, we noticed that the leaves on some trees up here in Northern Ontario are just starting to turn brown as the nights are getting colder. Basically warning us that summer is starting to wind down and soon the season will change into fall. Local sailing races here have switched to over to Saturday races as the evening sunshine is less and winds die down quicker. There is still, lots of sailing time left, so get out and enjoy any good sailing time that is still available.

 2) 2010 Rendezvous Update.
------------------------------------------

The 2010 Sandpiper Rendezvous was a great success due the Sandpiper Committee and to our French Sandpiper Hosts. The Rendezvous broke some records and had some new surprises in store for us. 11 Sandpipers attend the weekend, (4 from Quebec, 1 from Michigan, and 7 from Ontario). Another Sandpiper from the area sailed out to greet us (making it 12), and then there were 4 more Sandpiper Owners that visited us without their boats (making it 16). Officially, only 11 boats camping overnight to tie the record to the same as last year but with more owners attending. Hopefully next years Rendezvous if everyone above attends, plus those who couldn’t, plus some new first timers, we will smash the record easily. There were lots of photos were taken by all who attended and their stories can be soon found online, as we encourage them to tell of and how the Sandpiper Community or Sandpiper Family had an impact or included them. You can also read about the “special surprises” that were in store for us.

 3) New Sandpiper Forums
------------------------------------------

3) For those of you who enjoy using the CL Sailboat website and Forums (which have been both offline for about 3 weeks now with future status unknown) there is an alternative. To ensure that communications between everyone is still maintained, simply visit the www.sandpiper565.com/forums website. Yes, due to your requests, we have now installed Sandpiper Forums that have some neat new features. Take a few minutes to register (to gain full access to more features). Most users are using the name of their boats making it easier to relate to. This is our first attempt of using this new technology; hence bear with us as we learn on the fly. We do hope that the CL Sailboat forums will return in the near future as they have been the home of the Sandpiper Community for some time and have collected a lot of history, photos, technical help and created many friendships between Sandpiper Owners.

 4) Suggestions for 2011 Rendezvous
---------------------------------------------

Where will the next Rendezvous be held? Overall it’s up to you! Your suggestions are important in choosing the next location and facilities. The 2011 Rendezvous forum can also hold polls where you can vote. Also additional volunteers will be needed to help out with the Rendezvous Committee depending where it will be, as next years event could be much bigger. Only if you come! (G-r-i-n!)

Until then, see you on the Waters or on the Forums.
Sincerely, Neil
